The C is the bedrock of Merc's range and the company rolled out a slew of derivatives to mark the occasion - including the Vision C220 Bluetec, the first four-cylinder diesel with Merc's clean-breathing tech. Vision is a tag for Stuttgart's concepts that are a dead cert for the showrooms, so expect something very like this soon.

There are high hopes for the new Peugeot 208 GTi, with Peugeot desperately hoping a performance halo for the 208 range will evoke memories of the terrific 205 GTi and filter down in to much bigger sales for more prosaic 208s. Shelby American adds SCCA-ready version to the GT350 Mustang mix

Enthusiasts who want to take the new GT350 Mustang racing in Sports Car Club of America events are getting some help from Shelby American. The Las Vegas-based company, which upfits the 2011 Ford Mustang GT to create the GT350 Mustang, will add a normally aspirated version to the lineup. When Shelby American first announced the GT350 program in January, it centered on a supercharged version of Ford's new 5.0-liter V8 that would make about 500 hp.
