travel sensor (1) removed from known good SMT GSA (gear shift actuator) unit.
Each GSA has three of these sensors, all identical.

This item ( select stroke sensor / shift stroke sensor ) was removed from a running, fully functional 52,000 miles 02 MR2 Spyder SMT.
Guaranteed to function correctly when installed.
Item  tested fully functional on the bench.
Toyota's SMT transmission is the clutchless "automatic" option offered on the 01-05 MR2 Spyder.
They worked great from the factory but over time failures are growing more common.
The sensor is one of the common failure points and a new one from Toyota costs over $250 in USA and even more in the UK !!!!
Swap this good, low mile unit in at a fraction of the cost and save!
After any work is performed on the SMT system it must be fully bled and reset, then the relearn procedure must be performed.
A Toyota dealer tool (or compatible TIS cable available for purchase on ebay) is required for this relearn.
If you fail to reset the SMT TCU after a parts swap it will not function properly

Frankfurt Motor Show 2007 Trends and Overview

Mon, 15 Oct 2007

The Frankfurt Motor Show is home to the European moguls of the automotive industry. BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, the Volkswagen Group, GM Europe and much of Ford Europe all have their head offices within a few hours drive of the Frankfurt Messe, so it's only right that these automakers would bask in the limelight. But instead of competing for bragging rights for the most powerful cars in the range, this year's motor show afforded automakers an opportunity to showcase their environmental credentials and their latest 'innovative' powertrain technologies.

Lorenzo Ramaciotti to head Chrysler and Lancia design

Fri, 25 Nov 2011

Lorenzo Ramaciotti, current head of design at Fiat Group, has been tasked with leading the design of future Chrysler and Lancia products in a bid to more than double the sales figures of the newly collaborated brands. The 63-year-old former Pininfarina designer – credited to some of the most beautiful Italian machinery of the modern era – has been asked by Sergio Marchionne, chief executive of Fiat and Chrysler Group LLC, to create a common styling language for the two brands that wouldn't look out of place in Detroit or Milan. Ramaciotti has made it clear that badge-engineering isn't going to be the future for the two brands and is hoping to inject a unique, but global flavor, into the two brands.
