Maserati sales up 4-fold in UK & Europe this year
Mon, 12 May 2014The Maserati Ghibli (pictured) helped Maserati to strong sales in UK & Europe Maserati are on a mission to revive sales for the marque after years of being just an afterthought for car buyers fancying something interesting and Italian. And it seems to be working. The new Maserati Ghibli (and the Quattroporte) are starting to appeal to car buyers in the UK and Europe so much that sales so far in 2014 are up by 420 per cent on 2013, and although the actual numbers aren’t massive, the progress certainly is.
Jaguar XFR debuts at the Detroit Auto Show boasting 500hp
Sun, 11 Jan 2009Until today, Jaguar’s elegant XF didn’t have an R-badged derivative at the top of its range. That all changed at the Detroit Auto Show when the British marque took the wraps off a new 503-hp supercharged version of Jag’s comeback-kid four-door sedan. The same engine is also offered in the new XKR coupe, which also debuted at Detroit.
Lexus CT 200h: The emissions
Mon, 13 Sep 2010Teh Lexus CT 200h has emissions of just 96g/km We have to go with the flow on this because, although we have no faith in the assertion that man is responsible for climate change, for as long as Governments penalise and promote cars based on the emissions of CO2 from their tailpipe (I know, it’s barking) we have to accept that car makers will respond to that stick and carrot. Which is why we see a raft of car makers churning out ‘Eco’ cars with a 99g/km emissions figure, as sub-100g/km of CO2 emissions is the Holy Grail for maximising tax effiecencies. Of course, Lexus has gone a step further and seem intent on producing only hybrid cars as soon as possible.
